25. Houses of Homeland

Written By Najat Abdelsamad

.

“The country does not like its people …”

.

.

A country that suffocates and crushes its people, fleeing from its safety, to the sea, to the cold, to death.

.

From Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, people migrate

.

“they migrate individually and in groups convincing or ambiguous reasons.”

.

Why are they leaving? In this testimony, the author, a physician from As Suwayda, puts us in front of a gallery of personalities anxious, broken, and ill with patriotism, inhabited by a key question: “When will these homelands know that we love them?”
